Disclosure Agreement
The donor or the donor’s appointee acts as an adviser to the Donor Advised Fund. Hence, a donor can provide advice and recommend or request distributions, but the ELCA Foundation is not required to follow said advice. This may be the case if a donor advises a distribution to an organization NOT recognized as a public charity by the IRS or the charity’s purpose is in opposition to the tenets of the ELCA. The ELCA Foundation will inform the donor if proposed distribution is denied.
